At school we were doing cross country. There were four groups. Tainui: Blue, Matatua:Green, Takitimu:Yellow, and Te arawa: Red. I was in Tainui. My friend is in matatua and his name is Marvin. We both couldn’t run. We couldn’t run because every time I run it hurts my knee cap or my thigh. Marvin can’t run because he has a medical certificate. He’s been sick for quite a while.
It was so hot it would of been nice to have a swim to cool down. I couldn't put on sunscreen on because I'm allergic to it. The Tamaki college boys helped too.
I was cheering for Tainui while Marvin was cheering for Mataua. They had chants too. Tainui had their own too. Tainui’s chant was "WHO ROCKS THE PARTY WHO ROCKS THE PARTY, TAINUI ROCKS THE PARTY". Matatua’s one was ‘ARE YOU READY READY READY YES WE ARE READY READY".
When it was time for everyone to start running we were helping them to be lead to get water when they finished. From the five year olds to the thirteen year olds. The five year olds don’t run very far but the year eights run up to 3.5 K.
We had to stand up for almost three hours. We were moaning for probably ten minutes. My legs were aching too. When cross country finished I walked home exhausted even though I didn’t run.
